We told you last week to not sleep on Torian Graham (2012 – SG- 5 stars) who many had written off when he started listing Kentucky and Georgetown and then told you again a few days ago that things were starting to happen and happen quickly with NC State and Torian Graham. We said that because we were told by a source close to the program that the Wolfpack nearly had Graham locked up. Well, after a meeting with the NC State coaching staff, Torian Graham has decided to take his talents to Raleigh, committing to the Wolfpack and solidifying a 2012 class that already has a superstar point guard in Tyler Lewis. Graham chose State over Kentucky, UNC, Miami and Georgetown.
Graham is the #25 overall player in the nation according to Scout.com who many have said has the elite scoring ability to be the #1 playmaker on a top 25 team, something NC State has been lacking for years.
This is a huge pull for NC State who was in need of adding more talent to the 2012 class. It’s also is a statement pull by head coach Mark Gottfried who is looking to make a serious move for in-state talent. The Graham commitment could also lead into a commitment that would put NC State over the top for ’12, as it’s said that the #8 player in the nation- Rodney Purvis- wants to attend the same college as Graham.
Graham is a rising senior for Word of God Academy in Raleigh. Here is what ESPN had to say about him.
Check out this video on Graham as well to see what they’re talking about…
We’ll have more for you as the situation unfolds including quotes, interviews and more video. Either way today is a huge day for Wolfpack basketball and for Mark Gottfried and his new staff as they land a top 25 talent to add to what might end up being a top 10 class in 2012.

PI, you’re the first to post he committed; hope this is accurate.
Can this kid play D and shoot? I think we get all gooey over these highlight films full of dunks and slick moves but they don’t always translate to being solid college players (see Ryan Harrow).
If so, that’s a great pick up, local talent and highly rated for Gottfried. Who from the staff did the recruiting here?
Great job by new coaching staff. Hell of a way to get the recruiting started. Welcome aboard TG. I’m liking MG even more.
Congratulations to the coaching staff, to new recruit Graham, to other recruits pulling for him like Lewis, to current players like CJL and Zo, and to former players like Julius.
Also congrats to Matt and Lou for being on the money !!
Go STATE !!
