TJ Warren To Announce Today, Choosing NC State or Georgetown

dday

TJ Warren, a 5 star forward, originally from Durham with make his college decision today at around 4pm. The announcement will be made from New Hampshire, where TJ is currently enrolled in high school. His choices…NC State or Georgetown.

NC State is very much a player in this situation thanks to Warren’s family. TJ’s dad Tony played for the Pack in the late 70′s and for this reason TJ grew up rooting for NC State. He is also said to be a bit homesick at Brewster and ready to come down south, a little closer to home. Here is what his good friend Mitch McGary (5 star forward- Brewster) had to say about that in his recent blog post.

“I would assume, and I really don’t know for sure, that T.J. would like to go to one of those schools that are close to his home in N.C.,” McGary wrote in his entry. “That’s just my guess.”

On the other hand, you have Georgetown. Sure, they are closer to home than Brewster and also offer a chance to jump immediately into an established program, but with his good friends Rodney Purbis and Tyler Lewis already committed to NC State and both begging him to join, it’s surely hard for him to turn down.

We spoke to a few sources close to the program yesterday about the announcement, one of whom had this to say.

“Based on conversations he’s had with his friends and with the staff, NC State feels confident in where they stand with Warren.” said the source. “That’s not saying he’s 100% coming to NC State, because college staffs have been confident and been let down many times, I’m just saying they like where they stand.”

We can’t say this thing is going one way or the other, but based on the people we’ve talked to, we’ve never gotten any indication that he’s leaning towards Georgetown and obviously, for NC State fans that’s a good thing. Usually by this time information starts to leak and we’ll get word that he’s favoring a different school (if that’s the case), but that hasn’t happened and all we’ve gotten is confident responses from those around the program and those close to Warren and his situation.

That being said, there will be no sure answer until 4pm today when Warren makes it official. We’ll be hitting the phones and getting in touch with all of our contacts to keep you updated on any twist or turn that may occur. Follow our breaking information HERE on our forum.

I believe common sense comes in to play for TJ as well:
    - He will be a Legacy from good genes and college education of his father
    - Big East is falling apart
    - DC is a miserable place to live (lived up there for 22 years – here is better)
    - Won’t have to compete with NBA and other professional sports (NC State is King in Raleigh)
    - Recruiting class will be one of most outstanding in the nation
    - He personally knows our current players and recruits who are good people as well as basketball teammates
    - Chance to restore NC State legacy to kick blue holes and devil butts
    - Most passionate fan base around (sometimes even lunatic!)

Come on down, TJ. You will part of something more special than you think !!
Go Pack !! Go TJ. !!

Looks like this site just steals info from other sources. Pack Pride’s headline on this story was “Decision day for Warren.” I wonder how much of this shit on here is actually independently confirmed??? Wolfpacker, PP, and ESPN should be pissed.

*update: Sorry I was so rude. I apologize.

Our article was posted at 6:30am, theirs was posted close to 8am. I don’t see how we copied them when ours was written first.

We have sources close to the program, we do not steal anything from anybody. How do you think we had the TJ Warren story posted second after he committed? B/c it was already written, we had already been told.

ps. I updated your comment for you.

Feel a bit like Rodney Dangerfield there Lou. No respect. Talk about about putting your foot in your mouth. Maybe ’11 needs to do more research.

Anyway, all of us here appreciate what you guys do. Keep up the good work.
