NC State Offers 2014 4-Star SF, Dwayne Morgan

According to the Washington Post, Dwayne Morgan, a 4 star SF from Maryland has picked up an offer from NC State. We haven’t been able to collect to much information on Morgan, other than he’s  new to the scene and NC State is in on the bottom floor. There aren’t many schools that know about this kid, but ESPN’s Dave Telep admits to be blown away by his talents upon first review.

Morgan comes from a two-athlete family, both of whom played sports at Clemson. So, watch out for the Tigers in this recruitment. However, I think when all is said and done Morgan is going to be looking at a higher caliber school than that. He is showing the hard to find combination of elite talent and elite basketball IQ.

One other school in the mix right now is Maryland, who actually hosted Morgan earlier this season (Morgan is from Baltimore). Recently the Washington Post did a story on Dwayne and spoke about his potential. Check out this quote…

But among the most intriguing players was Morgan, whose game bears some resemblance to that of a young Rudy Gay — another Baltimore area product whom Morgan models his game after. NCAA rules prohibit college coaches from commenting publicly on unsigned prospects, but one coach from the region called Morgan a “high-, high-major talent.”

UNC and Texas are also in this mix, but offers have only been reported from NC State, Nevada-Las Vegas and Seton Hall. Morgan has a long road ahead of him since he’s in the 2014 class, but it’s good to see NC State on the ball and already throwing an offer to a kid who’s sure to be one of the nation’s top players.
We’ll keep you updated and hopefully have video sometime soon.
