THURSDAY WEB RUN: A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS…THE GOOD & THE BAD

Elite Company

The following stat was posted on Twitter by numerous official NC State athletic accounts:

“State 1 of 4 schools to win bowl, finish in top 20 in men’s hoops & host baseball regional (top 16 seed) with Fla, FSU, Baylor”

NC State’s athletic program seems to have taken big steps in the right direction in 2011-12, and we will get a better idea just how big of a step it is, when the updated Director’s Cup standings are released later today.

But Still A Long Way To Go

PackPride responded to the above tweet with the following two tweets:

“However, State needs to start winning some titles. Since 1992 State has ZERO ACC titles in men’s hoops, women’s hoops, baseball, or football
The next fewest ACC titles since 1992 is Boston College and Maryland with four. The most? Duke and Florida State (17).”
While every program wants to move up in the rankings, the ultimate goal is always to win championships.
Which program (men’s hoops, women’s hoops, baseball, or football) is the closest to winning a conference championship?
