Of the 19 former NC State players on NFL rosters, 17 of them saw action in week 2. Nine of the 17 players were starters. Below is a breakdown of their Week 2 performances.
Russell Wilson – (QB, Seahawks, 1yr) – Russell led the Seahawks to his first career win as an NFL quarterback, with a 27-7 statement victory over the Cowboys. While his stats might not boggle your mind, he was extremely efficient. Wilson was 15 of 20 for 151 yards with 1 touchdown, and also managed to rush for 28 yards on 4 carries.
Season Stats: 304 yards, 61.1%, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 81.1 QB Rating, 48 yards rushing (4.0 YPC)
Andre Brown – (RB, Giants, 3yrs) – Eli Manning might have thrown for 510 yards in the Giants 41-34 win over the Bucs, but Andre Brown should get the game ball. After Ahmad Bradshaw went down with an injury, Brown stepped in and stole the show. He rushed 13 times for 71 yards (5.5ypc) and a touchdown, and also caught two passes for 19 yards. Prior to this, Brown had only 2 rushing attempts for -1 yards, and both of those came in 2010.
Season Stats: 71 yards rushing (5.5ypc), 19 yards receiving, 29 yards returning kickoffs (14.5ypr)
Philip Rivers (QB, Chargers, 9yrs) – Rivers followed up a solid week 1 performance with an even better week 2 performance. He led the Chargers to a crushing 38-10 win over the Titans, improving San Diego to 2-0. He was 24 of 32 for 284 yards, and had 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Rivers’ QB rating this week was an impressive 119.8.
Season Stats: 515 yards passing, 73.8% (3rd), 4 touchdowns (2nd), 1 interception, 110.7 QB Rating (6th).
Nate Irving – (LB, Broncos, 2yrs) – Nasty Nate recorded 2 tackles in the Broncos 21-27 loss to the Falcons last night. To put this in perspective, Irving played in all 16 games in last years rookie campaign, and recorded a total of 4 tackles.
T.J. Graham (WR, Bills, 1yr) – After not seeing the field in week 1, the third-round draft pick not only saw playing time this week as a reserve, but he also collected the first catch of his NFL career, for 7 yards against the Chiefs.
Season Stats: 1 reception, 7 yards
Stephen Tulloch (LB, Lions, 7yrs) – Tulloch tallied 5 tackles and 2 pass deflections in the Lions 19-27 loss to the 49ers.
Season Stats: 14 tackles and 2 pass deflections
Adrian Wilson (SS, Cardinals, 12yrs) – Wilson had 3 tackles in the Cardinals shocking 20-18 win over the Patriots.
Season Stats: 5 tackles, 1 interception and 1 pass deflection.
Manny Lawson (LB, Bengals, 7yrs) – Manny posted 3 tackles, with one of those being for a loss, in a 34-27 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Season Stats: 9 tackles (1 TFL)
Mario Williams – (DE, Bills, 7yrs) – Super Mario continued his quiet start to the season, recording 2 tackles and one pass deflection in a 35-17 win over the Chiefs.
Season Stats: 3 tackles and 1 pass deflection
Steven Hauschka – (K, Seahawks, 5yrs) – Hauschka connected on both of his field goal attempts on Sunday, as well as his three extra point attempts.
Season Stats: 5/6 field goal attempts, 4/4 extra point attempts.
Jerricho Cotchery – (WR, Steelers, 9yrs) – Jerricho caught his first reception of the season (6 yards) in the Steelers 27-10 win over the Jets. He was targeted 2 times.
Season Stats: 1 reception, 6 yards, 3 targets
Markus Kuhn – (DT, Giants, 1yr) – Markus recorded another tackle in his second career NFL game.
Season Stats: 2 tackles
Sean Locklear – (OG, Giants, 9yrs) – Sean started for the Giants in their win over the Bucs, and has started both games.
Leroy Harris – (C, Titans, 6yrs) – Leroy started for the Titans in their loss against the Chargers, and has started both games.
Ted Larsen – (C, Bucs, 3yrs) – Larsen started for the Bucs in their loss against the Giants, and has started both games.
J.R. Sweezy – (OG, Seahawks, 1yr) – After starting at Guard for the Seahawks in week 1, Sweezy played as a reserve in the Seahawks 27-7 win over the Cowboys.
Willie Young – (DE, Lions, 3yrs) – Willie saw action as a reserve in the loss against the 49ers, but didn’t record a tackle.
Audie Cole – (LB, Vikings, 1yr) – Cole has yet to see action for the Vikings through the first 2 games.
Terrell Manning – (LB, Packers, 1yr) – After seeing action as a reserve in week 1, Manning failed to play in the Packers 23-10 win over the Bears.
