Anytime you beat a #1 team you’re going to get a lot of attention from all over. For coaches, the attention they are really looking for is from their recruits. It’s every coaches dream to have some top recruits on a visit when you topple a top ranked team on national TV (especially when one of the recruits is also considering that top ranked team). Let’s take a look at who was there last night to witness NC State’s win over Duke.
Sidy Mohamed Djitte – 6’10, 220lbs – 2013 Center
NC State is going to need bigs next season. They’ll be losing Howell and Leslie, so finding some bigs that can come in and rebound is essential. They already have Vandenberg, and Beejay Anya has committed, but adding depth is definitely something Gottfried wants (and needs) to do.
Djitte is very long and actually very coordinated for his size. He’s got great hands, good footwork and is already a factor on both ends of the floor. He will need to add some weight, but his versatility has NC State very intrigued. This is a kid who can run the floor, score from the post, knock down a short jumper and really get after it on the defensive end.
He was supposedly in the crowd yesterday when State took down Duke. He’s also from Fayetteville, NC, and Gottfried has done a very good job of keeping in-state talent, in-state. He extended Djitte an offer in late December.
2013 North Carolina C Sidy Mohamed Djitte will be in attendance for the NC State vs Duke game today per @teamtruth07

Ahmed Hill -6’5, 190lbs – 2014 SG
Hill is a big time talent out of Georgia. He’s got pretty much all the tools you look for in a shooting guard. He’s got a great feel for the game and is a very smart player. He’s a physical yet smooth player who is built and moves a lot like Lorenzo Brown. Hill is definitely not as quick off the bounce or as athletic as Brown, but he seems to glide and play the game at his own pace, a lot like Zo. Hill also has a much more advanced jumper than Brown at this point. He can really knock it down from deep and has a nice pull-up game with great form and a real soft touch on his shot.
The problem with landing Hill? He’s being recruited by just about everyone. He’s got offers from Kansas, Florida, Indiana, Villanova and Ohio State, just to name a few. This is the #24 ranked player in the 2014 class, so that’s pretty much what’s expected.
On my way home from my visit at NC state had a great time ….

Brandon Ingram – 6’7, 170lbs – 2015 Forward
Ingram is another in-state kid who is already gaining a lot of attention despite the fact that he’s only a sophomore. He’s 6’7, can shoot it, can handle it and can go get it on the boards. He’s a very versatile player which is why UNC and NC State are already all over him. Coach Gottfried has already been out to see him on a number of occasions, making it pretty obvious that the Wolfpack really want him. There are rumors that he grew up in a family of Duke fans, but with the Blue Devils not reaching out to him and NC State’s big win over them yesterday (while Ingram was in attendance), maybe things are changing.
