Who is Savon Goodman? Many NC State fans are asking this question today. The Wolfpack fan base is curious why his name just popped up on their radar on signing day…so late in the game. Why has no one been talking about this 4-star combo forward? Well, this morning we give you the answers you’re looking for. Most college coaches haven’t been recruiting Goodman this season, because most of them were under the impression that he would prep next season in order to get his academics in line. In fact, there was a plan in place for him to go to Brewster Academy next season to prep for a year. Well, the plan might have changed. According to Goodman’s head coach Rob Moore at Philadelphia Constitution, he has qualified academically. Once the word got out that Goodman might be on the market, high level division-I coaches started calling in an aggressive manner. “Since he qualified academically, Savon decided that he wanted to go to college now. Many kids go prep because they want to better there options. That’s not the case for Savon. He has colleges from all the major conferences knocking at his door right now,” said Moore….

NC State commit Tony Creecy had a big game against Athens Drive last night, in the second round of the NCHSAA 4A state playoffs. Creecy’s 5 receptions for 93 yards were pivotal in the Spartans 24-21 win over the Jaguars. Southern Durham will face New Hanover (10-3) next Friday, November 27th, at Southern Durham High School. David Amerson (S) - Dudley (11-1) had no trouble putting points on the board in their first round match-up against Smith, beating their rival 47-20. With the seconds ticking off the clock at the end of the first half, NC State commit David Amerson ran back a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown to put the Panthers up 21-14 at the half. Dudley will play High Point Central this Friday in the second round. Safety David Amerson has listed the Wolfpack as his leader for a majority of his recruitment. As of late, some people thought that Amerson’s recent visit to Notre Dame might have changed the Safety’s mind. Amerson proved that his heart was always with the Wolfpack, committing to NC State tonight. Amerson leads a stingy defense for the 10-1 Dudley Panthers. AJ Ferguson originally committed to NC State back in December of 2008. This 6’2,” 250lb DE/TE, accumulated 80 tackles (20 for loss), 10 sacks and 1 interception in his senior season at South Brunswick High School. Ferguson was unable to enroll at NC State this Fall, and is currently at Fork Union Military Academy. He let the NC State coaching staff know that he was still committed to the Wolfpack back in August, when he announced his recommittment. In fact he had already broken this record by halftime, accumulating 268 yards passing in the first half. This season is Bert Williams’ eighth as the athletic director and head football coach at Georgia Military College. Williams has established a dynasty at GMC, and his Bulldogs are respected as a perennial powerhouse within the NJCAA.
