Brian Bowen, a consensus 2017 5-star Small Forward out of Michigan is steadily climbing the recruiting rankings and catching the eye of big time coaches. Mark Gottfried is one of those coaches who has taken notice and has begun to actively pursue the bouncy wing man.
Bowen (6’7″) is somewhat of a late bloomer who has sprouted over 2 inches since entering high school and is becoming a true force as he grows into his new frame. Aside from being dangerous around the rim, he’s also showing the ability to score from the perimeter and off the bounce with efficiency. If he keeps growing and ends up filling out, you might be looking at one of the top prospects in his class.
Bowen currently holds offers from Boston College, Florida St., Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa St, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan St, Missouri, NC State, St. John’s, Texas Tech, & UNLV. ESPN ranks him as the #20 player in the class, and the #4 Small Forward. Bowen is the #1 player in the state of Michigan.
We’re being told that Gottfried and the NC State staff are doing all they can to get him to come out to the October 3rd Tailgate Tipoff.
Jernigan is ranked as the #64 overall player nationally in the 2024 recruiting class by ESPN, and the #1 player in the state of North Carolina.
She chose NC State over a Final 3 that included Michigan and Kentucky.
Last season at Bishop McGuinness (Kernersville, NC), Jernigan averaged 19 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, while shooting 46% from the field.
Andrews took an Official Visit to Missouri last week, and he has one scheduled with Arkansas in the middle of October, one with LSU the second week of November and one with Marquette beginning on January 31st of next year.
NC State offered Andrews back on June 15th.
ESPN ranks Andrews as the #15 overall player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, the #4 Small Forward and the #1 player in the state of Arkansas.
