NC State lost to Clemson last night 56-41 in an offensive shootout.  It wasn’t the Wolfpack’s most stellar defenisve performance in recent memory.  Here are a few defenisve notes.

Hakim Jones led the Wolfpack with 10 tackles.

Airius Moore led the Wolfpack with 2 tackles for loss.

Mike Rose picked up a tackle for loss in his 15th straight game.

Bradley Chubb had a career high of 9 tackles.  His previous high of 7 came against Virginia Tech earlier this year.

Justin Jones had a career high of 9 tackles.  His previous high of 4 came against Wake Forest earlier this year.

Juston Burris had a career high of 9 tackles.  His previous high of 8 came against UNC back in 2013.

Shawn Boone had a career high of 6 tackles.  His previous high of 3 came against Wake Forest earlier this year.

Riley Nicholson picked up his first career start, and also picked up a career high of 4 tackles.  His previous high of 2 came against South Alabama earlier this year.

NC State allowed Clemson to pour on 623 yards of total offense.  The last time the Wolfpack gave up over 600+ yards of offense was back in 2012, when Miami put up 651 yards of offense.

Clemson’s 383 passing yards and 240 rushing yards are the highest total that the NC State defense has given up in both categories this season.  Watson’s 383 passing yards are the most an opposing QB has thrown against the Wolfpack defense since 2012 when another Clemson quarterback, Tajh Boyd, lit them up for 426 yards,
