The Wolfpack have only played the Irish twice before, and they have won straight up and against the spread both times.

Last season when Notre Dame came to Raleigh in a hurricane, they entered Carter-Finley as 2.5 point underdogs, but ended up losing by 7 (3-10).

In 2002, the Wolfpack and the Irish faced off in the Gator Bowl, which was arguably the biggest bowl game in NC State history. The Wolfpack entered the game as 2-Point underdogs, but walked out of the stadium with a 28-6 victory.
