Here is a bulleted breakdown of NC State head coach Dave Doeren’s press conference after the Wolfpack lost 24-30 to the Demon Deacons.

  • Dissapointed with the loss. Guys kept playing.
  • Had 502 yards on offense. 94 plays. Only get 24 points, and fumble going in to win the game on the goal line. You’ve got to make those plays.
  • I don’t know if the wind really effected Kelvin Harmon. Had 2 or 3 really key drops.
  • Defensively struggled in the first half and made some good adjustments in the second.
  • Got to make the plays when they are there.
  • It hurts when you don’t have all your guys out there (Hines and Louis), but they were missing a really good d-lineman on their side.
  • Had enough players to win the game, but didn’t make enough plays to win the game.
  • Put Chris Ingram at Nickel because they thought they were missing too many tackles at safety, and Shawn Boone is our best tackler back there. Chris Ingram has gotten better and better all year, but obviously watching him tonight you wouldn’t think he was ready. He’s our best coverage player that we have.
  • Emeka Emezie was broken-hearted as you’d expect him to be. He was excited as you’ve ever seen a kid after his first touchdown. I feel for him. He didn’t have good ball security going in. He was swinging it. He’ll learn from it. It’s too bad it was that play. It was a play that would have put us up by one.
