Every scenario possible for NC State’s ACC Tournament seeding (3/3 Mid-day Update)

NC State takes on Louisville tonight at 6pm, but basketball is well underway today and a lot of scenarios have been taken off the board. The bad news for NC State is that they no longer have the opportunity to finish 4th and get a double-bye in the ACC Tournament, thanks to Miami beating Virginia Tech. At this point, the Clemson vs. Syracuse game doesn’t really matter anymore. All that matters now is whether or not State wins and who wins the UNC/Duke game.

If NC State beats Louisville and finishes 11-7

  • Duke beats UNC, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Syracuse beats Clemson: NC State finishes 5th
  • Duke beats UNC, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Clemson beats Syracuse: NC State finishes 5th
  • UNC beats Duke, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Syracuse beats Clemson: NC State finishes 6th
  • UNC beats Duke, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Clemson beats Syracuse: NC State finishes 6th

If NC State loses to Louisville and finishes 10-8

  • Duke beats UNC, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Syracuse beats Clemson: NC State finishes 8th
  • Duke beats UNC, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Clemson beats Syracuse: NC State finishes 8th
  • UNC beats Duke, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Syracuse beats Clemson: NC State finishes 8th
  • UNC beats Duke, Miami beats Virginia Tech, Clemson beats Syracuse: NC State finishes 8th

NOTE: Thanks to the VT loss, with an NC State win and a UNC loss, State finishes ahead of UNC in the standings as the Heels would fall to 6th.
