WaPo predicts (way too early) NC State to make 2019 NCAA Tourney

Yes, this is basically Washington Post writing some click-bait article about the 2019 NCAA Tournament, however, there are a few things to take away here.

They list NC State as the #35 overall seed. Here is what they had to say:

35. N.C. State. Here largely on the strength of Coach Kevin Keatts, who exceeded expectations in Year 1 in Raleigh just as he had at UNC Wilmington. There will be a lot of moving pieces, but there’s no questioning the options in a Wolfpack backcourt that will include Braxton Beverly, Torin Dorn, Markell Johnson and UNC Wilmington transfer C.J. Bryce.

First off, another article fails to mention Devon Daniels. The 6’5 transfer SG is going to play a major role for this NC State team, yet the most recent NBC prediction article left him out and so does the Washington Post right here.

What this tells me is that not only is this a ‘way too early’ prediction, but it’s also done by someone who has no real idea of what some of these teams rosters are going to look like. What you can take away, however, is that the general consensus going around is that NC State is going to content next season despite losing their whole front court and a couple good grad transfers.

The national media talking heads must have really liked what they saw out of Keatts last season for them to keep mentioning State after all the roster turnover.
