Raptors Sign Lorenzo Brown For Playoff Run in NBA

Former NC State point guard Lorenzo Brown was recently awarded the G-League MVP award for the 2017-18 season. News broke yesterday that the Toronto Raptors have signed Brown for their playoff run.

Zo who was signed to a two-way contract with the Raptors last July, and appeared in the big leagues for the Raptors in 14 games this season. By signing him to a standard NBA contract, he will be able to play with the Raptors in the NBA playoffs starting this weekend.

Brown led the 905 Raptors to the G-League Finals against the Austin Spurs, which was a best-of-three series. In Game 1 on Sunday night, Zo had 20 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds in a 105-93 loss. Then on Monday night, Brown was called up to the Toronto Raptors, and had his best game of the season in the NBA, recording 11 points and 5 rebounds in 24 minutes of play in a 108-98 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Then he went back down to the G-League on Tuesday to play in Game 2 of the Finals, and recorded a double-double of 11 points and 10 assists in a 98-76 loss to the Spurs, which clinched the championship for the Spurs.

Needless to say, it’s been a busy week for Zo, but he will be suited up for the Toronto Raptors when they play the Wizards on Saturday in Game 1 of the first round of the NBA playoffs. The game will air on ESPN at 5:30pm.
