No. 2 NC State Earns 8-3 Win Against No. 8 UNC-Chapel Hill in ‘Duel at the DBAP’

DURHAM, N.C. – The second-ranked NC State baseball team earned an 8-3 non-conference win against No. 8 UNC-Chapel Hill Tuesday evening at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. With the win, the Wolfpack remains unbeaten in midweek games with a perfect 9-0 mark.

NC State moves to 29-7 on the year, while UNC-Chapel Hill falls to 24-13. Freshman Reid Johnston earned the win on the mound and moves to 5-0 on the year, while UNC starter Rodney Hutchison took the loss and falls to 3-2.

– NC State struck first in the contest after freshman Patrick Bailey launched a two-run homer over the right field wall in the second inning.
