James/Markel Valdez Transfers From NC State

NC State rising redshirt sophomore cornerback James/Markel Valdez is transferring from NC State.

In the Spring before last season, Valdez was suspended indefinitely from the team. He was eventually reinstated, and cracked the rotation, but unfortunately suffered a season-ending ACL tear in the second game of the season against Marshall.

Valdez was a member of NC State’s 2016 recruiting class, and was a 3-Star prospect out of Orangeburg, South Carolina. He chose NC State over offers from Michigan, UNC, South Carolina, Wake Forest and Tennessee.
