AJC ran a piece ranking the ACC Athletic Programs for their performances in 2017-18, and according to their calculations, NC State is the #2 Athletic Program in the ACC this year.
Here’s how the rankings were formulated. If a team finished 1st place in the standings in a sport that 15 ACC teams participated in, they received 15 points, 2nd place received 14 points, and so forth. Then they took the total amount of points and divided it by the total amount of sports to get an average.
What’s impressive, is that the men’s programs didn’t have to carry the womens programs, or vice versa. When they did the rankings for men’s and women’s sports, NC State ranked 2nd in the ACC in both.

J. Cole Wears NC State Baseball Jersey in New Music Video
Rapper J. Cole released the music video to his new song “Under the Sun” yesterday, and he is wearing an NC State baseball jersey in it. Cole, a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been a frequent visitor at NC State since Dennis Smith Jr. came to Raleigh in 2016. He attended quite a few of Smith’s games in PNC Arena.
Since then, Cole has continued to come back to Raleigh, and has played quite a few games of pick-up basketball in the Dail Center.
You can buy the jersey that J Cole is wearing online at the Red and White Shop, but currently every size is sold out besides 3XL.

BA: NC State’s Thayer Thomas Ranks as College Football’s 4th Best Baseball Player
Baseball America recently ranked College Football’s best Baseball players, and NC State Wide Receiver Thayer Thomas ranked 4th.
4. Thayer Thomas, North Carolina State
Thomas had a big redshirt freshman year for the Wolfpack. In the fall, he was a backup wide receiver and caught 34 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns, while also serving as NC State’s punt returner. In the spring, the outfielder hit .222/.364/.500 in 14 games and got drafted in the 33rd round by the Red Sox. He turned down Boston’s offer, however, and will continue as a dual-sport athlete at NC State. The former walk-on is now listed as a starter at wide receiver on the Wolfpack’s depth chart as NC State prepares to open its season against East Carolina. (BA)
