Will Wilson leads Team USA in win over CPL-Select (w/ highlights)

NC State is well represented on Team USA, with both Will Wilson (SS) and Patrick Bailey (C) being named to the team last week.

Last night, they made the Pack look good by helping Team USA past CPL-Select, 3-2.

Wilson, playing 2B, made a few fine plays in the field…

He also went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI (in the official game), but the teams played a couple exhibition innings afterward and that is when Wilson added this monster shot…

Meanwhile, Patrick Bailey didn’t start for Team USA but did come in later and erased a running trying to steal with this throw…

Team USA will begin its five-game series against Chinese Taipei today (6/28) at 6:05 p.m. ET at Coleman Field at the National Training Complex. The game will be streamed on USABaseball.com, Facebook Live and the USA Baseball YouTube page.

Out of the 34 players currently on the Collegiate National Team, only 18 of them have locked in spots for the annual series against Japan and Cuba. Bailey and Wilson are amongst the 16 players that are vying for the final six spots, and they will have the chance to show they deserve one of those spost in the upcoming 4-game series against Chinese Taipei starting today at 6pm.
