NC State’s National Team Stat Rankings at the Halfway Point

We are at Week 7 of the 2018 college football season, and NC State ranks high nationally in quite a few team statistical categories.

NC State ranks 1st in the nation in Offensive 3rd Down Conversion Percentage, and 33rd in Defensive 3rd Down Conversion Percentage.

Even though I’d like to see the Wolfpack be even more disciplined, they are one of the least penalized teams in the nation. They rank 19th in penalties per game and 20th in penalty yards per game.

NC State’s passing attack ranks 8th nationally, but their passing defense ranks 84th.

The Wolfpack’s Redzone Offense ranks 85th, but their Redzone Defense has been stout, ranking 5th nationally.

While the NC State rushing game has averaged over 200 yards on the ground the past two games, their rushing offense ranks 96th nationally. On the other side of the ball, the Wolfpack has been stingy against the run, ranking 15th in the country.

Rush Defense

The Wolfpack Offensive Line, the “Band Of Brothers”, have barely let the opposition get to quarterback Ryan Finley all year, ranking 3rd in sacks allowed. The NC State defense ranks 41st in sacks.

A lot of NC State’s success thus far that has led to a 5-0 start, is their ability to keep their opponent from putting points on the board, ranking 15th in scoring defense. The Wolfpack offense ranks 47th in scoring offense.
