After being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 7th round of the 2017 NFL Draft, former NC State running back Matt Dayes was waived by the Browns after one season on September 1st. After working out for the Jaguars and the Lions, Dayes decided to sign on with the 49ers after working out for them on October 12th, joining their practice squad.

News broke today that the 49er’s have activated Dayes, bringing him up to the 53-man roster for their Monday Night Football matchup with the Giants.

Dayes will be wearing #43 for the Niners.

San Francisco was thin at running back after Raheem Mostert broke his arm. Dayes should serve as the backup to Matt Breida and Alfred Morris.
