NC State 5-Star 2019 point guard commit Jalen Lecque was expected to sign his letter of intent yesterday at 1pm, but that didn’t happen. According to Rivals, the signing will happen “while he’s home for Thanksgiving break after this weekend.”
This weekend, Lecque and his Brewster Academy squad will be playing in the National Prep Showcase in New Haven, Connecticut.
According to Evan Daniels of 247Sports, 10 NBA Teams will be at the event, watching him and 5-Star forward Akok Akok, who are both technically eligible to bypass college and enter next summers NBA Draft if they so choose.
To be clear, yesterday was not National Signing Day. It was the beginning of a week-long early signing peariod (November 14-21). Players can sign their letter of intent anytime between now and next Wednesday.
I have zero reason to believe that Lecque’s commitment isn’t solid.
