NC State’s Nick Reenan Named ACC Wrestler of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. – Two weeks into the 2018-19 season, two ACC Wrestlers of the Week for NC State.

After R-So. Hayden Hidlay was named last week for winning the Hokie Open, classmate Nick Reenan was named the ACC Wrestler of the Week for his performance this past weekend at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.

In his season debut, and after a redshirt season, Reenan went a perfect 3-0 at 184 pounds. He started with an 11-3 major decision, then scored a first-period pin over #20 MacCallum of Oklahoma. In his final bout, he scored a pair of takedowns without conceding any and defeated #6 Preisch of Lehigh, 4-1.

In this week’s rankings, Reenan is No. 6 at 184 pounds by both FloWrestling and InterMat.

Reenan was also named TheOpenMat.com’s National Wrestler of the Week.
