Senior Running Back Reggie Gallaspy rushed into the NC State record book after his 5 touchdown performance against UNC on Saturday.

Gallaspy finished the day with 27 times (career high) for 129 yards (career high) and 5 touchdowns (career high). His 5 rushing touchdowns, climaxing in the game-winning touchdown in overtime, tied the school record for rushing touchdowns in a single game.

Reggie Gallaspy – 5 (UNC – 2018)
T.A. McLendon (Texas Tech – 2002)
Stan Fritts (Wake Forest – 1972)

With two games remaining, Gallaspy has 16 rushing touchdowns on the year, which is the 2nd most in a single season by a Wolfpack player. T.A. McLendon’s single season record (18 touchdowns) is completely in reach.

1) T.A. McLendon – 18 – 2002
2) Reggie Gallaspy – 16 – 2018
2) Stan Fritts – 16 – 1972

4) Stan Fritts – 13 – 1973
4) Ted Brown – 13 – 1977
4) Ted Brown – 13 – 1976

Gallaspy now has 27 rushing touchdowns in his career, which ranks 7th all-time in school history. That is beyond impressive, considering the fact this is his first year as a starter.

5. Ray Robinson, 1998-01 – 30
6. Jaylen Samuels, 2014-17 – 28

He ranks 8th in school history in total career touchdowns.

1. Ted Brown, 1975-78 – 49 rushing,  2 receiving – 51 touchdowns
2. Jaylen Samuels, 2014-17 – 28 rushing, 19 receiving – 47 touchdowns
3. Stan Fritts, 1972-74 – 41 rushing, 1 receiving – 42 touchdowns

Also, Gallaspy is 206 rushing yards away from 1,000 yards with 2 games left. If he pulled it off, he would be the third straight running back in three years to do so (Matt Dayes, Nyheim Hines).
