NC State Looking For 1st December Victory in Carter-Finley

NC State has been playing football since 1892, and today’s matchup against East Carolina marks only the 6th time in school history that the Wolfpack have played a regular season game on December.

In fact, it’s been 59 years since the Wolfpack’s last regular season game in December.

12/5/1959 – @ Maryland – 33-28 (L)

12/1/1939 – @ Miami – 27-7 (L)

12/3/1938 – vs. Citadel – 14-6 (W) (at Neutral site in Wilmington, NC)

12/1/1934 – @ Duke – 32-0 (L)

12/3/1927 – Michigan State – 19-0 (W)

NC State’s record in December regular season games is 2-3.

Today marks the first December regular season game ever played in Carter-Finley Stadium, which opened in 1966. The Wolfpack’s home victory in 1927 was in Riddick Stadium.
