Freshman Jericole Hellems tied his career high with 16 points tonight in NC State’s 97-64 victory over Loyola Maryland to close out the non-conference slate. • Coach always tells me to work on my defense and the offense will come. Coming out with intensity as a single group, trying to pick things up.
• Coach reminds me everyday that defense is the most important thing coming off the bench, and providing energy. Anything I can do to help the team to win is what I come off the bench to do.
• The way I shot the ball gives me more confidence to shoot the ball. Coach tells me to have confidence every time I shoot the ball. It helps when the ball is going in.
• I think ACC play is going to be a great environment. The environment playing Auburn in the PNC was crazy, so I know ACC play is going to be great. Looking forward to proving a lot of people wrong and having a lot of fun.
