Little unknown fact.

Philip Rivers, the G.O.A.T. to play quarterback at NC State, has stealthily been serving as a mentor for Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley from across the country.

“I just missed a speech he gave to our team three years ago (before arriving at N.C. State). … I’m excited to meet him in person. I’ve corresponded with him over the phone and he’s been a big help to me,” Finley said. “The success he’s had, he’s done it the right way. N.C. State, we’re referred to as QB U and it’s a blessing for me to be part of that. Philip’s just sent me a couple texts and a couple voice texts just giving some advice or wishing me well throughout this process or after some big games in my career.” (NFL)

Yesterday at the NFL Combine, Finley also shared with the media his experience meeting Kelvin Harmon for the 1st time.

On his view of leadership…

Finley’s goal for today’s testing at the Combine: simply to be faster than his Center Garrett Bradbury, who ran a 4.92 40-yard dash yesterday.

Yesterday Finley clarified that he has met with every NFL team.

Oh yeah…that Philip Rivers speech that Finley missed. Here it is.
