NC State Opens NCAA Tournament Play Against Campbell at Noon

When the first pitch is thrown at Noon down in Greenville, NC State will officially begin play in NCAA Baseball Tournament for the 31st Time.

The Wolfpack will face the Campbell Camels in Game 1 of the Greenville Regional today.

NC State and Campbell split a home-and-home series during the regular season, with each team winning on the road.

The Wolfpack crushed the Camels 10-1 in Buies Creek (February 27), and Campbell defeated NC State 5-3 on May 7th.

The #Pack9 crew boasts an all-time series record of 51-17-1 against the Camels.

Campbell enters the NCAA Tournament with a 35-19 record, winning the Big South Championship.

NC State enters the Dance with a 42-17 record, earning the #3 seed in the ACC Tournament, finishing in the Semifinals.

Sophomore Ace Reid Johnston will take the mound for the Pack, and Senior Michael Horrell will start for the Camels. Johnston enters the game with a 6-1 record, a 3.91 ERA, and 64 strikeouts in 73.2 innings. Horrell enters with a 9-3 record, a 2.73 ERA and 74 strikeouts on the year.

If NC State wins, they will play the winner of today’s second game (ECU & Quinnipiac) tomorrow at 4pm. If they lose, they will play the loser at 11am.
