PI EXCLUSIVE: WR Stephen Gosnell Talks Commitment to NC State

Published

on

3-Star 2020 Wide Receiver Stephen Gosnell committed to NC State a week ago, and I caught up with him to get his take on why he decided to run with the Wolfpack.

When did NC State begin recruiting you? What was that process like?

I had been in contact with Coach Henry since the Fall, but they started heavily recruiting me I’d say about 3 weeks before the Spring Game

Stephen Gosnell

What led you to ultimately commit to NC State?

Ever since I watched my first game there I wanted to play for that school under those coaches, so once I got the opportunity I wasn’t gonna give that up.

Watching Coach Mcdonald coach that camp after I committed, I loved how he coached hard and gets into it with his players, and that was just campers, so I’m sure it’ll be even better at practices. I went to the NC state vs. Louisville Thursday night game two years ago as a guest to someone who they were recruiting, and I had chills down my spine that whole game

Stephen Gosnell

Do you have a relationship with any of the other 2020 NC State commits?

Devan Boykin (2020 Cornerback Commit) and I have played against each other 2 years in a row now and know each other pretty good. I met Ben Finley (2020 Quarterback Commit) at the Spring Game and we’ve been texting some here recently. Also have chatted with Sean Hill (2020 Offensive Guard Commit) a little too.

Stephen Gosnell

How would you describe your game? How have the coaches said you would fit in the system?

I think I play pretty smooth. Most the moving I do is fast and violent. I run about any route pretty good, but definitely could improve them. I feel as if I can score anytime I touch the ball. Coach Mcdonald says I can play outside and inside with some of the versatility I have. He mentioned maybe even Wildcat to my head coach.
