Philip Rivers Ranked 17th in 2019 NFL Top 100

Annually NFL.com ranks the Top 100 players heading into the season, and 3 former NC State players made the list this season. Former Wolfpack Quarterback Philip Rivers is #17 heading into the 2019 football season.

Last year Wilson was ranked 56th heading into the 2018 season.

Rivers has placed in eight of the nine top 100 lists, missing the rankings only in 2013. The former Athens High School standout ranked No. 26 in 2011, No. 61 in 2012, No. 34 in 2014, No. 43 in 2015, No. 46 in 2016, No. 73 in 2017 and No. 56 in 2018.

In his 13th consecutive season of starting every Chargers’ game, Rivers completed 347-of-508 passes for 4,308 yards with 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Rivers earned his eighth overall and third straight Pro Bowl invitation as he led Los Angeles to a 12-4 regular-season record. (AL)
