NC State 2020 Football Commits Week 2 Report

This past week marked the 2nd week of the High School Football season. Here’s a rundown on how quite a few of NC State’s 2020 verbal commitments performed.

4-Star Wide Receiver Nate McCollum had 5 catches 201 yards and 2 touchdowns in Dutchtown’s 59-14 victory over Creekside.

He also threw this bomb.

3-Star Offensive Tackle Austin Blaske had 8 knockdown blocks in South Effingham 29-26 victory over Jenkins in Overtime.

3-Star Cornerback Aydan White had 4 touchdown receptions and 1 interception in Christ School’s 35-20 victory over University Christian.

3-Star Defensive Tackle Jaylen Smith had 6 tackles in Hertford County’s 27-26 victory over Hunt.

3-Star Offensive Guard Johnathan Adorno and the Rolesville Rams defeated the Fike Demons 34-13.

3-Star Defensive Tackle Davin Vann had 6 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 sack in Cary’s 22-17 loss to Apex Friendship.

3-Star Quarterback Ben Finley was 12 of 16 for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns (0 interceptions) in Paradise Valley’s 42-0 victory over Central.

3-Star Wide Receiver Stephen Gosnell had 3 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown in East Surry’s 63-9 victory over Starmount. He also had 2 rushes for 17 yards, a 70-yard kickoff return, 3 tackles, and 1 pass breakup.

3-Star Offensive Tackle Patrick Matan and Gonzaga beat American Heritage 33-14.

3-Star 2025 CB Jayden Shipps has Locked In His Official Visit to NC State

I confirmed with 3-Star 2025 Cornerback Jayden Shipps (6’1″/180) that he will be taking an Official Visit to NC State on June 7-9.

Shipps also took an unofficial visit to Raleigh on March 22nd.

The Wolfpack offered a scholarship to Shipps on October 4th, and he also holds offers from Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan St., Syracuse, Duke, Pitt, South Carolina, West Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Maryland, Wake Forest and others

ON3 ranks Shipps as the #21 overall player in the state of Maryland in the 2025 recruiting class. Shipps had 24 tackles and 1 interception for Archbishop Spalding (Servern, MD) this past season.

3-Star LB Jaiden Braker Locks In Official Visit to NC State

3-Star 2025 Linebacker Jaiden Braker (6’4″/210) has locked in his Official Visit to NC State for June 19-21.

The Wolfpack offered Braker on April 2nd, and he also holds offers from Utah, South Carolina, SMU, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Cal, Cincinnati, Indiana, BYU, Liberty and others.

Last year, Braker had 48 tackles and 4 tackles for loss for South Gwinnett (Snellville, GA)

Top-30 Prospect WR Aaron Gregory Visited NC State Today

2026 4-Star Wide Receiver Aaron Gregory (6’2″/170) took an unofficial visit to NC State today.

He was visiting with his Douglas County teammate Jordan Carter.

Gregory is a Top-30 overall prospect nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, with Rivals ranking him 20th. ON3 and 247Sports both rank him as the #2 Wide Receiver in the class, and 247Sports ranks him as the #2 player in the state of Georgia.

He holds offers from NC State, Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, UNC, Auburn, FSU, Duke, Tennessee, Ohio St., LSU, Miami, USC, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Mississippi St., Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, Colorado, Arkansas, Boston College, Penn St., Ole Miss, West Virginia, SMU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Indiana, Pitt, Cal, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame and others.

This past season, Gregory had 41 receptions for 795 yards and 8 touchdowns for Douglas County.

Top-10 2026 Prospect DE Jordan Carter Visited NC State Today

4-Star 2026 Defensive End Jordan Carter (6’3″/235) took an unofficial visit to NC State today.

Carter holds offers from NC State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, West Virginia, SMU, UCF, Georgia Tech, USC, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and others.

Rivals ranks him as the #10 overall player nationally in the 2026 recruiting class, and the #2 Defensive End. ON3 ranks him as the #1 player in the state of Georgia.

This past season at Douglas County, Carter had 84 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks.
