NC State’s defense has been extremely stingy through the first two games of the 2019 season.

Obviously, ECU and Western Carolina haven’t been the most formidable opponents, but the Wolfpack has been unforgiving on the defensive side of the ball.

NC State is 1 of only 2 school in the nation yet to yield a touchdown through two weeks, along with Wisconsin. In fact, dating back to last year, the Wolfpack haven’t given up a touchdown at home in 3 consecutive games.

Last time that was done?

1990-91.

NC State’s scoring defense ranks 2nd (3.0) behind Wisconsin’s 0. Their opponents have averaged 187.5 yards of offense, which ranks 5th.

The Wolfpack’s opponents have averaged 1.0 yards per carry, which ranks 4th nationally.

Fortunately for NC State, West Virginia only has 64 rushing yards through 2 games, which is the 2nd worst to Texas State. Their average of 1.14 yards per carry is the worst. The Mountaineers don’t have a single rush for 10+ yards.
