A little secret was leaked this week.
The NC State coaching staff believes that Pancakes are best served with Syrup.
Offensive Line Coach John Garrison gives out bottles of syrup for every “pancake block” a player records that week. You don’t have to be an O-Lineman to snag a bottle of syrup. You just have to put someone on the ground.
Apparently this tasty little reward system has been going on for about 2 years now.
The bottles are distributed in Sunday’s team meetings after that weeks game, and 16 were handed out after Game 1.
Sophomore Ikem Ekwonu is proud owner of 41 bottles of syrup, collecting an average of 3 per game.
Mark Packer, of “Packer & Durham” on ACC Network, seemed more interested in the brand of syrup being rewarded to the players.

Three days later Packer opened up a FedEx package from Doeren, finding a bottle of “Pancake Block” syrup to tase for himself.
