NC State commits Breon Pass and Terquavion Smith still picking up honors

With all the talk about the transfer portal over the past week, you may have forgotten that the Pack has three 4-stars coming in next season, which has them ranked as the 21st best recruiting class.

Two of those recruits, Breon Pass and Terquavion Smith were named to the HoopState First-Team last week. This is TheHoopsState.com‘s top 5 players from North Carolina, and,  before you write it off because it’s not ESPN, or Scout, or someone like that putting out these rankings, understand that nobody watches more high school basketball than the guys at Hoop State. They literally have a business model centered directly on covering North Carolina high school basketball. So this ranking does hold weight.

If you haven’t heard of Breon Pass, or haven’t had the time to really examine his game, here you go.

He was a 3-star kid and mostly unknown coming into his senior season. Many believed he’d play college football instead of basketball, however, he has had a massive senior season and was one of the top scorers in the state, which elevated him to a 4-star on ESPN .

Terquavion Smith is a kid who also exploded this past summer with games of 50, and highlight-reel plays almost nightly. Whether he’s throwing down dunk in the lane or dropping in a 3 from 10 feet behind the arc, Smith gets the crowd going. If you want deep-dive Smith, here you go…

Smith was also recently selected for the Iverson All-American game. That game will be played on May 8th at 6pm.
