NC State has decided to extend head football coach Dave Doeren through 2026.

“Dave continues to provide tremendous leadership for NC State Football and elevate the standards for our program,” said Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan. “We continue to see competitive growth, academic growth and there is great continuity among our entire staff. Dave and Sara are deeply invested in both the NC State and Raleigh communities and we’re excited for even greater days ahead.”

Doeren led the Pack to a 9-3 record this past season, finishing 6-2 in conference play.

He is 64-49 in his 9 seasons with NC State, good for 2nd all-time in wins.

Our take: Good move by NC State. Doeren had a rough start to his career in Raleigh, but over the past two seasons, he’s started to separate his program from the pack. State is 17-7 over the past two seasons and almost the entire fan base is now on-board.

Next season he’ll have strong returning core and some publications even have the Pack ranked in the Top-10 nationally in their pre-season polls.
