NC State Redshirt Senior Wide Receiver Thayer Thomas is taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted due to Covid-19, and will likely find himself in the Top-10 of most of the school’s career receiving records by seasons end.

Thomas enters the season ranked 7th in career receptions with 158. If he were to match his 2021 total of 51 receptions, he would finish his career at NC State with 209, which would rank 2nd all-time behind Emeka Emezie (229).

Thayer enters his final year ranked 15th in career receiving yards (1,842). If he were to match last years production of 596 yards, he would finish his career with 2,438 receiving yards, which would rank 7th in school history.

He enters the season with 20 career touchdown receptions, which ranks 3rd all-time. In 2021, Thomas snagged 8 touchdowns, which ranked 8th for a single season in NC State history. If he were to match last years numbers, he would finish 3 TD’s behind NC State legend Torry Holt, who sits at the top of the list with 31.

Thomas’ 4 100-yard games ranks 10th all-time in school history. In 2021, Thomas had one 100-yard performance, hauling in 122 yards against Boston College on the road.

As you can see from the screenshots above, Emeka Emezie has an asterik by his name, due to the fact that he had a fifth year of eligibility available to him due to Covid-19. After this season the same will be true for Thomas.
