5-Star 2023 Guard A.J. Johnson (6’5″/165) was set to take an Official Visit to NC State this weekend, but the plans have changed, and he is looking to reschedule it near the end of October.
AJ Johnson, the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2023 class, will no longer take his official visit to NC State this weekend, a source tells @247Sports.
— Travis Branham (@TravisBranham_) September 22, 2022
Rivals ranks Johnson as the #9 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class. He has already taken Official Visits to LSU (9/17) and USC (9/10) the past two weekends, and is scheduled to take one to Louisville on October 21st. If Johnson is still planning to take an Official Visit to Raleigh in late-October, he might be in early on October 27th, when the NC State football team will host Virginia Tech on Thursday night on ESPN.
According to 247’s Travis Branham, Kansas, Arizona State and Gonzaga are all candidates for the 5th and final Official Visit.
Johnson plays for Donda Academy in Simi Valley, California, and honestly, he is a candidate to try to play professionally outside the NBA for a season, prior to entering the 2024 NBA Draft.

— Joe Tipton (@TiptonEdits) September 20, 2022
After taking an Official Visit to Missouri this upcoming weekend, Parker will have taken Official Visits to all 5 schools. Parker took his Official to NC State on the weekend of September 9th.
Here’s what he had to say to ON3 about NC State:
NC State: “The best part was, once again, the plan. They are going to support me in my dreams. I’m all in on whoever I go to. I had never been to Raleigh, and it was actually pretty nice. Coach Keatts kind of models my game of a little bit like Dereon Seabron. They space the floor, set screens, and just go downhill from there.” (ON3)
ON3 ranks Parker as the #59 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class, and the #2 player in the state of Virginia, playing for John Marshall in Richmond.
2023 Dennis Parker Jr has been a standout in the CBG Fall Series. Recently took Official Visits to NC State, Georgetown & Oklahoma State this summer🔥

Here’s what Green had to say to 247 about NC State and what they have in common with the other two schools:
NC State: “Coach [Kevin] Keatts showed in the last year of how his guards have freedom and the culture is coming back to where it used to.”
“They all have the same thing in common,” added Green of this finalists. “They haven’t promised playing time but they have said that if I do what I’m supposed to and what they expect me to do then I will have a great chance to start freshman year.” (247)
Rivals ranks Green as the #65 overall player nationally in the 2023 recruiting class. Green plays for Southern California Academy.
NC State was late to arrive in the recruitment of Green, offering him on July 25th.
Green was scheduled to take official visits to Nebraska (9/30) and NC State (10/7), but it looks like he won’t be taking them. He did take an Official Visit to Arizona State the first week of September. Arizona State is looking like the favorite here.
Let’s welcome 2023 Braelon Green 6’3 PG to Southern California Academy. Electric & dynamic guard that can play both guard positions because of size, explosiveness, & ability to play make & score. One of the best defenders in the country. @BraelonGreen1 #RamThrough 🐏🤞🏽 pic.twitter.com/KD5F3kF7YV
