Former NC State Guard Dereon Seabron has officially made the New Orleans Pelicans 2022 opening day roster.
After going undrafted, Seabron was picked up by the Pelican’s on an undrafted free agent deal. He proved doing well at the NBA Combine wasn’t a fluke, being productive for New Orleans in the Summer League and the Preseason.
Summer League: 5 games, 18.6 minutes, 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 42.9 FG%, 50 3 PT%
Preseason: 5 games, 7.3 minutes, 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 53.8 FG%
On September 9th, the Pelicans signed Seabron to a 2-Way Contract, which means he will play with their G-League Affiliate team, and have the ability to play on the Pelicans’ roster for up to 45 days.
While the NBA 2022 season officially begins tonight, the Pelican’s officially get their season kicked off tomorrow night at the Brooklyn Nets.
This is terrific news, he’s got a shot at the NBA. All any kid could ask for.
Be great, Dereon!!
Great News! I don’t know how the 45 day rule works but Seabron has worked hard and deserves the reward. I’ll be pulling for him.
