The 12th ranked NC State Women’s Basketball team (7-1) beat #10 Iowa on the road in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge last night, defeating the Hawkeyes 94-81, despite Caitlin Clark’s 45 points.
Junior Point Guard Diamond Johnson continues to be amazing, scoring a season high 22 points and a season high 9 rebounds, along with 4 assists. Johnson shredded the nets, shooting 8 of 12 from the field and 2 of 3 from deep. On the year, Johnson is shooting an insane 50.6% from the field and 53.5% from three.
Sophomore Guard Saniya Rivers had a breakout performance, scoring a career high 22 points, and had a team high 5 assists and a team high 4 steals. Rivers like Johnson, was on, fire, shooting 9 of 11 from the field and 3 of 4 from three point land.
Senior Guard Jakia Brown-Turner had 17 points, Senior Forward Jada Boyd had 12 and Senior Center Camille Hobby had 10. Both Boyd and Hobby also chipped in 6 rebounds each.
