Former NC State Verbal Commit Kyron Jones Signs with Georgia

Published

on

Former NC State verbal commit Kyron Jones has signed with the Georgia Bulldogs.

NC State offered Jones back on June 12th, and he took his Official Visit to Raleigh on September 17th. Shortly after, Jones verbally committed to run with the Wolfpack on October 1st.

Jones was recruited by NC State to play Running Back. He was extremely effective running the ball for Charlotte Christian this season, rushing for 1,346 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 3 touchdown receptions.

When an offer from Georgia came in on November 5th, eyebrows raised. Would this influence Jones’ decision?

Then an offer came in from Nebraska on November 29th.

Over the past two weekends, Jones took Official Visits to Georgia and Nebraska respectively.

Georgia didn’t recruit Jones as a Running Back, rather they recruited him as a Defensive Back. Jones had 43 tackles and 3 pass breakups this year.
