#23 NC State Looks to Take Edge Over Maryland in Historic Series

Believe it or not, the football series between #23 NC State and Maryland is dead even through 70 games. The series that began all the way back in 1909 currently sits at 33-33-4.

The winner of the Duke’s Mayo bowl will take the lead in the series, and will probably hold bragging rights for quite awhile. The two teams played each other every year as members of the ACC (1954-2013), but haven’t played one another since Maryland left for the Big Ten.

Wolfpack Head Coach Dave Doeren has only played Maryland one time during his tenure at NC State, and that was during his first season in 2013. Maryland won 41-21 in Carter-Finley Stadium.

NC State has won 3 of the last 5 against Maryland, but the two teams are dead even in the last 10 games, mirroring what the overall series looks like.
