#3 NC State 72 UVA 61: BOX SCORE (with notes)

#3 NC State improved to 13-0 on the year tonight, defeating UVA 72-61 in the Wolfpack’s ACC opener on the road.

Senior Mimi Collins scored a career high 25 points, making 9 of her 15 shots from the field, and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.

Junior Saniya Rivers returned from injury, and nearly posted a triple-double. She didn’t shoot well (3-14 FG), but finished with 10 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists.

Senior River Baldwin joined Rivers in the double-double party, with 14 points and 12 rebounds of her own.

Truthfully, this was an ugly game for the Wolfpack, shooting 35.7% from the field,  and 26.3% from three.

Fortunately, they locked down UVA defensively, holding the Cavaliers to an atrocious 27.8% from the field.

The Wolfpack will host FSU on January 4th at 7pm on ACCNX.
