#10 Seed NC State Rolls Past Bryant 9-2 in Game 1 of the 2024 NCAA Tournament

#10 seed NC State handled business as a Regional Host in their first game of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, rolling past Bryant 9-2.

Senior Pitcher Sam Highfill was stellar, pitching a Quality Start, giving up 2 earned runs over 6 innings, striking out 4. Freshman Jacob Dudan was insane in relief, pitching 3 perfect innings, striking out 6.

Senior 3rd Baseman Alec Makarewicz was 4 for 5, with 3 Doubles, 3 RBI’s and 2 Runs.

Senior 1st Baseman Garrett Pennington was 2 for 4, with 2 Doubles and 2 Runs.

Ultimately, Junior Shortstop Brandon Butterworth knocked in the game-winning run in the Bottom of the 3rd, with an RBI Single. Butterworth finished the evening 2 for 5, with 2 RBI’s and a Run.
