NC State’s Garrett Pennington & Alec Makarewicz are Double Machines

In the Wolfpack’s first game of the 2024 NCAA Tournament tonight, Senior 1st Baseman Garrett Pennington hit 2 Doubles, and Senior 3rd Baseman Alec Makarewicz hit 3 in NC State’s 9-2 win over Bryant.

As a result, both players rank in the Top-10 in school history for Doubles in a single season.

Bringing in Pennington and Makarewicz out of the Transfer Portal this past offseason was quite the accomplishment. Both players decided to spend their final year of eligibility at NC State, Pennington leaving Wichita St., and A-Mak leaving East Carolina.
