NC State has 32 players on their Baseball roster that initially arrived on campus in Raleigh as high school recruits, which is the most of any team in the 2024 College World Series.

The Wolfpack has four 4-year transfers, meaning players that transferred in from another Division I school: 3rd Baseman Alec Makerewicz (East Carolina), 1st Baseman Garrett Pennington (Wichita St._, SS Brandon Butterworth (Western Carolina) & RP Hollis Fanning (Tennessee). OF Josh Hogue transferred in from the Junior College ranks, and RP Shane Van Dam transferred in from a Division-III school.

The rest of the roster is made up of players who committed to Run with the Wolfpack out of High School.

It’s pretty impressive, in the world of the Transfer Portal, to maintain such a high percentage of your high school recruiting classes. Kudos to Coach Avent!
