NC State Men’s Basketball is releasing videos helping fans get to know the new players on the 2024-25 roster.

Below is the video of Bowling Green Transfer Guard Marcus Hill (6’4″/185), with a transcript underneath.

“Hey, my name is Marcus Hill, and I’m a transfer from Bowling Green State University. Coach Kareem (Richardson) called me probably like the 2nd day I hit the Portal, and was showing interest even when they were in March Madness. They just kept talking to me. Coach Keatts was calling me a lot, showing a lot of interest. That’s big for a Head Coach to call you a lot like that.

Once I got on the visit, it was great vibes and jokes. I was a little quiet, but they got it out of me. It was family vibes. Toward the end, I knew I was probably going to commit. Definitely before I committed, I was watching the play style, and I wanted to play free, get into the lane, get my teammates open. Scoring, that’s my second thing, but I feel like I can get my teammates open.

I’m going to give my all to try to win a championship. Trying to win, win, win, and keep having a winning culture.”

This past season, Hill averaged 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for the Falcons. He earned 1st Team All-MAC honors. Even though he was only at Bowling Green one season, he had one of the best seasons in school history, scoring 698 points, which ranks 5th all-time in program history for a single season.

For his first two years of collegiate ball, Hill played for Southern Union State College (JUCO) in Alabama. In 2022-23, Hill earned 3rd Team NJCAA All-American honors, and ranked as the #32 overall Junior College prospect.

247Sports ranks Hill as a 4-Star Transfer Prospect, and the #98 overall player in the Transfer Portal, and the #18 Shooting Guard.

Hill committed to NC State on April 25th. He has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
