How Many Medals Have NC State Athletes Won in the Olympics?

With the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics going on, NC State Historian Tim Peeler was asked, “Have NC State Athletes won many medals at the Olympics?”

He shared his answer on Twitter.

NC State athletes have gone on to win 18 different Medals in the Summer Olympics, with 16 of them representing the United States.

14 of the 18 Medals have been in Swimming, with 2 being in Men’s Basketball, and 1 in Rifle and Track & Field.
