3-Star 2026 Quarterback Jacob Smith (6’3″/200) has verbally committed to play Football at NC State. Smith had previously already committed to play Baseball for the Wolfpack (committed on January 13th of last year). He is now committed to be a Dual-Sport Athlete at NC State.

Rivals ranks Smith as a 3-Star prospect, while the other three national recruiting databases still have him unranked. Rivals ranks him as the #25 overall player in the state of North Carolina (Reagan High School/Pfafftown) in the 2026 recruiting class.

Smith also held offers from Wake Forest, Duke, ECU, UNC and UNC Charlotte to play Football.

NC State offered Smith on June 16th last Summer.

As a Sophomore last year, Smith threw for 2,051 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Smith is NC State’s first commitment in their 2026 recruiting class.
