The John Mackey Award has been given to the best Tight End in College Football annually ever since 2020.

Joly transferred to NC State from UCONN this past season. He will be a Junior this year, with 3 years available to play his final 2 years of eligibility. He had an incredible Sophomore campaign this past season for the Huskies, catching 56 passes for 578 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joly had 4 receptions for 38 yards in the season opener against the Wolfpack.

According to PFF, Joly boasts the highest Grade of any returning Tight End’s in the ACC. Also, according to PFF, Joly forced 20 missed tackles last season, and caught 12 contested balls, ranking first amongst Tight Ends nationally in both categories.
