The biggest thing I’ve worked on has been my mental. That’s the basis of the game. The game isn’t really as hard, as long as you work on your mental. I feel like that helps you in all around areas. Physicality, working out. Being with your guys. Going through film. Working on your craft.

It’s been pretty cool bringing the new guys along. Guys like Terrell (Anderson) and Keenan (Jackson) are good receivers. They’re big. As fast as they can learn the offense, that will help us. That’s the basis of what we need to do. With my young guys, getting them to learn the system. Learn the signals. The faster they do that, the faster we will all play efficient.

Gibby’s (Defensive Coordinator Tony Gibson) is a great Defensive Coordinator. He calls a lot of different things. Sends a lot of pressures at us. It’s good for us to work on a lot of things against his system. We will also play other teams that run that type of system. It’s good to see the physicality within his defense. I feel like that helps us. We’ll be ready for other teams.

We’ve grown up a lot. In the Spring we got here, and a lot of Freshmen didn’t know anything. We had a lot of mistakes. I feel like they’re coming along really well. They’re learning where to be with their alignment. Knowing when to block, who to block.

I feel like I’ve grown a lot. Routine. Praying. Isolation kind of helps me too, just thinking. Also, self talk helps a lot in this game.
