According to Draft Kings, NC State Sophomore Wide Receiver Kevin Concepcion has the 2nd best odds to lead the ACC in Receiving Yards in 2024. Miami Senior Wide Receiver Xavier Restrepo currently is the only player with better odds.

Last season, Restrepo had 85 receptions for 1,092 yards and 6 touchdowns in his 4th year on the field. Concepcion had 71 receptions for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns in his 1st year on the field.

Miami has upgraded at Quarterback this year, replacing Tyler Van Dyke with Cam Ward of Washington State. Restrepo isn’t the only option in the Wide Receiver room in Miami. Senior Jacolby George returns, and he had 57 receptions for 864 yards and 8 touchdowns last season.

NC State has also upgraded at Quarterback this year (in my opinion), replacing Brennan Armstrong with Grayson McCall of Coastal Carolina. Similar to Restrepo, Concepcion has more weapons around him in 2024. Redshirt Freshman Noah Rogers (transfer from Ohio St.) will start at 1 of the Outside Wide Receiver slots, and his odds are listed at +4000. Tight End Justin Joly (UCONN transfer) and Wide Receivers Dacari Collins and Wesley Grimes (Wake Forest transfer) will get their fair share of targets as well.

To be honest, I think Concepcion or Rogers could lead the ACC in receiving yards in 2024. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rogers led NC State in receiving yards, and KC led the Wolfpack in touchdown receptions. I also wouldn’t be shocked if Concepcion and Rogers both went for 1,000+ receiving yards in 2024, like Jakobi Meyers and Kelvin Harmon did in 2018.

I’m confident that Concepcion will be better in 2024 than he was in 2023, but will that equal an increase in his statistics from last year? There’s only one ball to go around, and there are a lot of talented hands looking to catch it this year. With that being said, KC will want to prove to everyone else that he’s the Alpha in the Wide Receiver room, no matter how much talent has been added. With other weapons around him this season, defenses won’t be able to simply laser focus on him. That’s a recipe for a jump in 2024 for Concpecion.
